Mini-Taschenteleskop Abraham, Bath

Diese Miniatur-Telskop ist nicht größer als 45mm (zusammengeschoben) bzw. 65mm (ausgezogen) mit einem Durchmesser von 22mm, bei einem Gewicht von nur 16g.
Es passt in eine kleine rote Pappdose.
Die Vergrößerung liegt bei ungefähr 2fach, die Fokussierung geschieht über einen Schiebetubus. Der Okulartubus ist aus Metall und hat eine Namensprägung, der Objektivtubus ist aus schwarzgefärbtem Holz (Ebnholz) oder Schellack (??), beide Linsenteile – aus dem gleichen Material – lassen sich abschrauben.

This miniature telescope is not bigger than 45mm (closed) and 65 mm (opened). It has a diameter of 22mm, and weighs 16g.
It fits into a little red cardboard box.
The power is about 2 times. The focus can be adjusted by means of a draw tube. The ocular tube is made of metal (tin), and stamped with a name. The objective tube is made of ebony or shellack (??). The lens parts can be unscrewed.

Seine Bauweise erinnert an die moderneren "Zeiss Tellup" oder "Seibert Emoskop".

Die Inschrift "Abraham, Bath" verweist möglicherweise auf den Optiker/Uhrmacher Jacob Abraham aus Bath, England. Das Telskop könnte somit aus der 1. Hälfte des 19. Jh. stammen.
