J.W. Fecker 18x54

Die Firma "J.W. Fecker", des Sohnes von Gottlieb Fecker (Mitarbeiter von Warner & Swasey), existierte von ca. 1920 - 1960. Das vorliegende 18x54 Spektiv mit dunkelgrüner Lackierung ist mir in zwei Beschriftungsvarianten bekannt (s. Fotos). Die Werbeanzeigen weisen zwei bzw. drei Varaianten auf (s. Bild). Das Monokular war zur Zielkontrolle bei Sportschützen sein gedacht. Es hat einen leicht konischen Haupttubus, eine rundes Prismengehäuse mit einem Porro-1-Prismensystem und ein drehbares Okularstück mit herausschraubbarem (Wechsel)okular (17,5mm). Am Haupttubus befindet sich eine Halterung für ein Gabelstativ, welches auch das Schwenken des Teleskops in seiner Längsachse erlaubt. Mit Flügelschrauben sind die Verstellungen arretierbar. Die Optik ist unvergütet. Das Spektiv wird in den 1930er oder 1940er Jahren gebaut worden sein. Das vorliegende, grün lackierte ist wohl No. 1 laut Werbeanzeige und Messdaten. The J.W. Fecker company, founded by the son of Gottlieb Fecker (co-worker with Warner & Swasey) was run between 1920 and 1960. The 18x54 spottings cope depicted here is known with two different markings (see pictures). Advertisements show two or three models variants. It is painted dark green. It was meant as a target scope for shooters. It has a slightly coniocal main tube, a cylindrical prism box with a Porro 1 system, and a turnable eyepiece with a (interchangeable) screwed-in ocular lens system (17.5mm) The main tube comes with a fork mount rack, which also allows rotating the monocular in its longitudinal axle. All movements can be tightened by wing screws. The optics are uncoated. This spotting scope was made in the 1930s or in the 40s. The green lacquered one shown here must be No.1 according to the advertisemnt and measurements.

Das Fecker ist 45,5 - 47,5cm lang. Der Tubus erweitert sich von 51mm auf 63mm. Die Objektivlinse ist um 35mm in den Tubus hinein versetzt, so dass dies einen blendshcutz ergibt. Das Prismengehäuse ist 53mm lang und 54mm im Durchmesser. Das Okularstück misst 26mm, der Fokussierungsteil und die Metallaugenmuschel 29,5mm im Durchmesser. Das Monokular wiegt 1350g. The Fecker is 45.5 - 47.5cm long. The tube icnreases from 51mm to 63mm. The objective lens is retracted by 35mm into the tube so that it forms a sunshade. The prism housing is 53mm long and 54mm in diameter. The eyepiece measures 26mm, the focuisng part and the metal eyecup measure 29.5mm in diameter. The scope weighs 1350g.
