Huet "Telescop" x20

Das Monokular mit der Bezeichnung "Telescop"x20 stammt von der französischen Firam "Jules Huet & Cie" in Paris. Der obere Deckel ist außerdem mit "Nouvelle maison" (neues Haus) und "fondée en 1913" (1913 gegründet) beschriftet. Das Glas wurde von dem Optiker "Santi" aus der 3 Rue St. Fereol in Marseilles inklusive eines Köchers mit Trageriemen vertrieben (s. unterer Gehäusedeckel und Innenseite des Köcherfuterals). Das Gehäuse ist aus schwarz lackiertem Messing mit einer Rauhlackummantelung und einer Bakelitaugenmuschel. Die Öse für einen Umhängeriemen ist ein aufgeschraubter Metallstreifen. Die Beschriftung mit "x20" sowie die Art der Trageöse sprechen für ein Modell aus der Zeit um den 1. Weltkrieg, zumindestens vor dem 2. Weltkrieg, da die Optik nicht vergütet ist. Der äußere und optische Zustand des Monokulars ist noch einwandfrei.

The depicted monocular labeled "Telescop"x20 was made by the French company "jules Huet & Cie" in Paris. The top prism cover is also inscribed "Nouvelle maison" (new house) and "fondée en 1913" (founded 1913). The glass was sold by the Marseille optician "Santi" coming with a leather case with strap (s. bottom cover and inside of case lid). The body is lacquered black and has a crinkle lacquer covering. The eye-cup is made of Bakelite. The strap lug is a metal strip screwed to the body. The specification with "x20" and the kind of strap lug refer to a model made around WWI, at least before WWII as the optics are not coated. The cosmetical and optical shape is still flawless.

Das geriffelte Okularstück hat ein Linksgewinde, hingegen anderer üblicher Rechtsgewinde. D.h. beim Drehen im Uhrzeigersinn (rechts) verlängert sich der Okularteil und fokusiert auf nähere Entfernungen, bei der Linksdrehung verkürzt sich das Okular und ist auf die Ferne eingestellt. Der Dioptrienausgleich reicht von plus bis minus 10, bei einer komplett umlaufenden Skala. Der Tubus um das 50mm Objektiv hat einen Durchmesser von 60mm. Der Objektivtubus ist selbst 14cm lang und misst 35mm im Durchmesser am Ansatz zum Prismengehäuse. Letzteres ist 65mm lang und 5x5cm breit. Das Okularteil ist im weiteren 43-50mm lang, so dass die Gesamtlänge des Monokulars 25 bzw. 25,7cm ist. Mit 647g ist das Glas natürlich nicht ganz leicht.

The milled eyepiece has a left turning thread in contrast to most of the right turning threads. That meanswhen turning clockwise the ocular tube gets longer and focuses at near distance, the other was round it gets shorter and focuses at infinity. Dioptre adjustment ranges from plus to minus 10. The eye-piece has a dioptre scale all around the tube. The tube at the 50mm objective lens measures 60mm. The objective tube itself is 14cm in length. It is 35mm in diameter at the point where it is screwed to the prism housing. The latter being 65mm long and 5x5cm wide. Moreover, the ocular is 43-50mm long. Thus the overall length of the monocular is coming up to 25 to 25,7 cm. Weighing 647g the glass is not quite light.
