G. Fournier 8x18

Das 8x18 Porro-1-Monokular - sozusagen der größere Bruder des 6x15 - hat eine blaue Vergütung und wurde somit nach dem 2. WK gefertigt. Es hat eine 2/3 Kunststoffaugenmuschel und eine unbeschriftete Dioptrienskala. Das kastenförmige Gehäuse hat eine Kunstlederummantelung. Die schwarz lackierten Deckel sind einfach verschraubt; der obere ist mit dem Firmenlogo und optischen Werten gekennzeichnet.

The 8x18 Porro 1 monocular - the 6x15's bigger brother - has blue coated optics, hence was made after WWII. It has a plastic 2/3 eyecup and an unmarked dioptre scale. The box shaped housing has a leatherette covering. The black lacquered cover plates have one screw. The top cover is marked with the company's logo and the optical data.

Das 8x18 ist 90 - 95mm lang, das Gehäuse ist 43x19x52mm groß. Die Objektivfassung misst 25mm, das Okular 20mm, der Fokussierungsring 27mm und die Augenmuschel 25mm im Durchmesser. Das Glas wiegt 186g.

The 8x18 is 90 - 95 mm long, the housing measures 43x19x52 mm. The objective frame is 25 mm, the eyepiece 20 mm, the focusing ring 27 mm, and the eyecup 25 mm in diameter. The glass weighs 186g.

Eine andere Modellvariante hat blank polierte Messingdeckel und ein Gehäuseummantelung aus Perlmutt. Es wiegt aufgrund des Perlmutts mehr, d. h. 235g. Es wurde mit einem roten Kunstlederfutteral geliefert.

Another model variant has polished brass covers and a mother of pearl covering of the housing. Because of the mother of pearl it weighs a bit more, that is 235 g. It came with a red synthetic leather case.
