Hensoldt Dialyt Vergr=8x (8x26)

Das vorliegende 8x26 Dialyt ist mit "Hensoldt Wetzlar" und dem Markennamen "Wacht" sowie "D.R.P. Vergr=8x" an den langen Außenseiten des Beschriftungssockels gekennzeichnet. Unter dem Logo steht die Seriennummer "78429". Die obere Sockelfläche ist unbeschriftet. Es hat ein Prismengehäuse mit eingegossener Trageriemenöse und dem vorstehenden Beschriftungssockel. Der Objektivtubus ist leicht konisch. Beide Tubusteile sind mit braunem Leder ummantelt. Ansonsten sind die Aluminium- und Messingteile sind schwarz lackiert. Das Messingokular hat eine umlaufende Dioptrienskala mit Beschriftungen bei null, +5 und -5. Die Augenmuschel ist aus Hartgummi. Ungewöhnlich ist ein zwischen Beschriftungssockel und Objektivtubus angebrachter Messingring. Da dieser Rillenspuren einer Abfeilung zeigt, könnte das Messingteil auch eine längere Halterung für ein anderes Instrument gewesen sein, die abgesägt wurde. Dafür spricht die Strichplatte mit Fadenkreuz. So könnte das Monokular als Visier oder Zieleinrichtung für ein Gewehr, Geschütz oder Peilgerät, wie einen Sextanten oder Theodoliten gedient haben. Ein anderes bekanntes Exemplar hat die Nummer 78449, was zumindest auf eine kleine - nicht öffentlich dokumentierte - Produktionsserie und bei Hensoldt gemachten Umbau dieser Art schließen lässt. Es entspricht ansonsten dem Reisedialyt 8x26.

The 8x26 Dialyt shown here is inscribed "Hensoldt Wetzlar", with its brand name "Wacht" as well as "D.R.P. Vergr=8x" on both sides of the labeling base. Below the logo the serial number is "78429". There are no markings on the top of the base. It has a prism housing with a cast-in strap-lug and a protruding base. The objective tube is slightly conical. Both tubes are covered with brown leather. The aluminium and brass parts are painted black. The brass eyepiece has a dioptre scale running fully around the tube and being marked at zero, +5 and -5. The eyecup is made of hard rubber. The brass ring between the protruding base and the objective tube is quite unusual. As it shows grooves from filing, the brass ring may also have been a longer metal part - now sawn off - for mounting the scope to some other instrument. A clue to that can be the cross-hairs reticle which served for aiming on a rifle, gun or some instrument like sextants or theodolites. Another known specimen comes with number 78449, which lets me assume that there was at least a small - officially undocumented - batch of this kind. All basic features are the same of the Reisedialyt 8x26.

Das 8x26 Dialyt ist 13,5 bis 14 cm lang, am Fokussierungsring 24mm, am Okulartubus 21mm, bei der Augenmuschel 33mm und am leicht konischen Gehäusetubus 30-33mm im Durchmesser. Der Beschriftungssockel ist 18x34mm dick. Das Monokular wiegt 183g.

The 8x26 Dialyt is 13.5 to 14 cm long and weighs 183g. The eyepiece is 21mm, the focusing ring is 24mm, the eyecup 33mm in diameter, and the conical housing increases from 30 to 33mm in diameter. The protruding labeling base is 18x34mm wide.

Ein weiteres 8x26 Dialyt-Modell mit in gleich beschrifteten Sockel hat die Seriennummer 78456. Der Beschriftungssockel und die Trageriemenöse sind bei diesem Exemplar auf der anderen Prismentubusseite angegossen. Der Sockel hat ebenfalls 2 kleine Schrauben an der Objektiv-seitigen Fläche, aber keinen Zierring und keine Halterung, die mit diesen gesichert wurde. Eine Fadenkreuzstrichplatte ist nicht vorhanden. Die Maße sind ansonsten identisch. Das Modell könnte aus der gleichen Produktionsserie wie die oben genannten Modelle stammen oder ein Folge- und Zwischenserie zum etwas anders am Sockel beschrifteten Reisedialyt 8x26 sein.

Another 8x26 Dialyt model with an identically labeled base has the serial number 78456. On this example, the labeling on the base and the strap lug are molded onto the opposite side of the prism tube. The base also has two small screws on the objective-side surface, but no decorative ring or mounting that was secured with them. There is no crosshair reticle. The dimensions are otherwise the same. This model could be from the same production run as the models mentioned above, or it could be a subsequent or intermediate series to the Reise-Dialyt 8x26 which is inscribed slightly different on the base.
